Emiline Leona Aubuchon, 92, of Crystal City died Oct. 10, 2022, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Home in Festus. Mrs. Aubuchon loved to play Bunco. She enjoyed feeding and watching deer and was a collector of stray kids and animals. She considered anyone or anything entering her home to belong to her and loved and cared for them unconditionally and wholeheartedly. Born Feb. 22, 1930, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of the late Magdeline (Linderer) and Emil Pruneau. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Aubuchon.
She is survived by four children: Susan Aubuchon-Massa of Crystal City, Conrad Aubuchon of Festus, Debbie (Gary) Johns of Crystal City and Judy (Gary) Picarella of Crystal City; a sister: Virginia (the late Roy) McComack of Festus; six grandchildren: Keith Johns, Brent Johns, Christopher Picarella, Jill Picarella, Lauren Walker and Caitlin Johnson; and five great-grandchildren: Clark Johns, Tristan Orine-Johns, Landen Bradshaw, Kyler Bradshaw and Jaylin Bradshaw. She was preceded in death by 10 siblings: Rita (the late Joe) Coleman, Leroy (the late Gladys) Pruneau, Joseph Pruneau, Anthony (the late Christine) Pruneau, Edmond (the late Elinore) Pruneau, Helen (the late Ron) Roskowski, Louise (the late Benedict) Jokerst, Lola Pruneau, Martin Pruneau and Eleanor (the late John) Hill.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Homeless Youth Initiative or to the Brendan’s Friday Backpack program. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
