A 33-year-old Arnold woman was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop by a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy in Imperial. The deputy allegedly found 22 empty small alcoholic beverage bottles in the car she was driving, authorities reported.

At about 11:45 p.m. Jan. 17, the deputy saw a 2002 Ford Taurus cross the center line while the woman drove west on Imperial Main Street. The woman then failed to signal before turning onto northbound I-55, the report said.

The deputy stopped the woman, and she allegedly told him she had drank several alcoholic beverages that evening, according to the report.

The woman allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. She was taken to a zone substation, where she was booked and released to a sober driver, the report said.

The woman was issued summons to appear in Jefferson County Municipal Court in Hillsboro for alleged DWI and other traffic violations, Capt. Matt Moore said.
