Ellen May Mitchell, 88, of Barnhart died Jan. 29, 2021, in Barnhart. Mrs. Mitchell was an assembly line worker for Carter Carburetor. Born Jan. 28, 1933, in Lenox, she was the daughter of the late Mary Rose (Richards) and Eugene Alfred Paul Enke.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Neil E. Mitchell.
She is survived by a daughter: Diana Alm of Barnhart; four brothers: Lee Roy Enke of St. Louis, Donald (Joann) Enke of Salem, Gilbert (Bonita) Enke of Salem and Jerry (Donna) Enke of Lenox; a sister: Bonnie Parks of Lenox; two grandchildren: Michelle (Oscar) Harrell of Arnold and Thomas Alm of Barnhart; and two great-grandchildren: Hunter and Wyatt.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Wayne (the late Margaret) Enke; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Enke; and a brother-in-law: Dale Parks.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
