Elizabeth Louise Govero, 78, of Festus died April 3, 2022, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Govero was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Festus/Crystal City, where she helped with the altar guild and sang in the choir. She was a member of PEO and enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling. Born Jan. 13, 1944, in Savannah, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Dorothy M. (Floyd) and Jay D. McKee. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jerome Govero.
She is survived by a daughter: Elisa “Eydie” (Douglas Scott) Thurman of Festus; a son: Jerome Ashley (Laura) Govero of St. Charles; a brother: John C. (Norma) McKee of Festus; a sister: Sharon (Dave) Tillotson of Idaho; and five grandchildren: Kelsey Thurman, Claire (Caleb) Scarbrough, Abigail Govero, Regan Govero and Zachary Govero.
Visitation is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Festus/Crystal City. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Youth Group. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
