Elise R. Humble, 93, of Festus died April 12, 2014, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Crystal City. Mrs. Humble was a retired social worker with the Missouri Division of Family Services and a member of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ in Festus. Born Aug. 15, 1920, in Waverly, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Grace (Cowart) and James M.C. “Cleve” Reeves. She was preceded in death by her husband: Merle Dale Humble.
She is survived by a daughter: Alice Sharon (Robert) Maack of Denver, Colo.; a son: Richard Alan “Rick” Humble of Festus; two grandchildren: Nathan Maack and Jonathan (Kristina) Maack; and a sister: Dorothy (Jimmy) McNeil of Clyde, Texas. She was preceded in death by a brother: Cleve Wyatt “Bill” (the late Gladys) Reeves.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main in Festus. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Gary Grey. Burial is in the Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery in Festus. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
