Elberta J. Golden, 83, of Hillsboro died April 9, 2020, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Golden was born March 22, 1937, in Evansville, Ind., the daughter of the late Elbert and Helen (McFarland) Simmons. She was preceded in death by her husband: James E. Golden.
She is survived by six children: Tim Herron of Hillsboro, Tommy Golden of Hillsboro, Todd (Dianna) Golden of Byrnes Mill, Tonya (John) Youngblood of Cadet, Tracy Golden of Hillsboro and Terri (David) Fortner of De Soto; a brother: Harlan Simmons of Evansville, Ind.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Tami Roberts.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
