Elbert G. Kyle, 91, of Festus died Aug. 12, 2022, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Festus. Mr. Kyle was a project manager for Doe Run Minerals in Herculaneum and a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Festus. He was also a musician, having run Don Fette Music Center of Festus for 14 years. He enjoyed playing guitar and teaching music. He was also instrumental in the building of the Calvary Assembly of God Church. Born July 22, 1931, in Festus, he was the son of the late Idella (Brown) and Elbert Kyle.
He is survived by his wife: Aleta (Mitchell) Kyle; two sons: Elbert (Vicki) Kyle of Fredericktown and Chet (Vickie) Kyle of Festus; six grandchildren: Tara (Bob) Kapper, Christopher (Sharia) Kyle, Trisha (Eddie) Umbdenstock, Melissa (Kyle) Salzman, Rebecca (Jim) Singer and Amy (Ricky) Cash; and 15 great-grandchildren: Ethan Kyle, Ally Kyle, Kaylyn Kyle, Mia Kyle, Zoey Salzman, Landon Salzman, Madi Schilling, Jake Reiser, Dalton (Erin) Umbdenstock, Davin Umbdenstock, Logan Cash, Collin Cash, Jada Roth, Alyvia Singer and Carl Singer.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Oscar (the late Mildred) Kyle; and a sister: Maggie (the late Jim) Amelung.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until a funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Kim Ferguson. Burial will be in the Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery in Festus. Memorials may be made to the Crystal Oaks Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
