Edwin P. “Ed” Muzzey, 52, of De Soto died April 5, 2016, in De Soto. Mr. Muzzey was the owner/operator of Muzzey Concrete Contracting and was also a farmer. Born Nov. 20, 1963, in Crystal City, he was the son of Edwin M. (Linda) Muzzey of Arnold and the late Paula Elaine (Province) Muzzey.
In addition to his father and stepmother, he is survived by his wife: Kimberly (DeClue) Muzzey of De Soto; two children: Emma Muzzey and Elijah Muzzey, both of De Soto; his grandfather: Jim Muzzey of Clearwater, Fla.; his parents-in-law: Terry and Chloe DeClue of De Soto; two brothers: Tom (Kelly) Muzzey of St. Charles and Warren (Darla) Muzzey of De Soto.
He was preceded in death by two children: Elizabeth and Ethan Muzzey.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus, officiated by Father Jeffrey Maassen. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
