Cain, Ed

Edward Otto “Ed” Cain, 90, of St. Clair died Sept. 24, 2014, in Washington, Mo. Mr. Cain worked in the tiff mill in Richwoods, was a driver at Kitson’s Rock Quarry in Cedar Hill and owned a tree-trimming business with his brother. He also enjoyed traveling, gardening and yard work and fixing lawnmowers. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Moselle. Born Aug. 9, 1924, in Cadet, he was the son of the late Harvey Lacey and Loria Candy (Smith) Cain.

He is survived by his companion of 25 years: Joyce Aker of St. Clair, and her two sons: Joseph (Yolanda) Matos of Arlington, Texas, and Steven Matos of St. Clair; two brothers: Albert (Jackie) Caine of De Soto and Bill (Ginger) Caine of Hillsboro; four sisters: Dorothy Nickels of Festus, Bernice Thebeau of De Soto, Midge (Otto) Salisbury of Hermitage, Tenn., and Maxine Drennen of De Soto; a sister-in-law: Del Cain of St. Clair; and by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son: Terry Lee Cain; and a brother: Stanley Cain Sr.

Funeral services were held Sept. 27 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, officiated by the Rev. Gary Eubanks and Tom Helms.  Burial was in the Prospect Cemetery in Lonedell. Arrangements were under the direction of Russell Colonial Funeral Home.
