Edward Lee Walker, 78, of Festus died July 17, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Walker served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. He worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Born Aug. 17, 1940, in Greenville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Bennie Lou (Featherston) and Jesse Lee Walker. He was preceded in death by his wife: Bonita Sue (McKenzie) Walker.
He is survived by three sons: Mike (Beverly) Walker of Festus, David Walker of St. Louis and Christopher (Hope) Walker of Affton; one daughter: Debbie (Ben Wanner) White of Festus; one sister: Martha (the late Ken) Thomas of Festus; one brother: Gregory (Diane) Walker of Paragould, Ark.; 12 grandchildren: Jacob, Katie, Scott, Lauren, Travis, David Jr., Justin, Megan, Lauren, Josh, Kayla, and Alysa; and nine great-grandchildren: Olivia, Andrew, Chase, Kyla, Tyler, Tucker, Hannah, Henry and Parker.
He also was preceded in death by one sister: Dorothy (the late Bob) Rutheford; one granddaughter: Sateia; and his dog: Sam.
Family services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
