Edward L. “Buddy” Smith, 70, of De Soto died May 19, 2021, in De Soto. Mr. Smith was a truck driver. Born Oct. 3, 1950, in East St. Louis, Ill., he was the son of the late Edward and Elsie (Kent) Smith.
He is survived by his significant other: Glenda Sue Clark of De Soto; a daughter: Chrissy Smith of Festus; three siblings: Donald Smith of Marble Hill, Dave Smith of Farmington and Bruce Smith; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: Buddy “Bo” Smith; a brother: Harold Smith; and a sister: Sandy Boyer.
A private graveside service was held at Charter Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral home in De Soto.
