Edward James Marr Jr., 68, of Belleville, Ill., died Jan. 22, 2021, at his home. Mr. Marr was a volunteer fireman in River Vale, N.Y., in his younger years. He was the former Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge Post 673 in Arnold. He was the founder and president of Property Owners Assistance League, he served as an election judge for years, and he campaigned for many Democratic candidates in Missouri. Born Sept. 1, 1952, in Union, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edward James Marr Sr. and Doris (Hamblin) Marr.
He is survived by his wife: Charleen (Meeks) Marr; two children: Melissa Marr of Belleville and Christopher (Vanessa) Marr of Hillsboro; and one grandchild: Riley Marr.
Mr. Marr chose to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements were under the direction of Schildknecht Funeral Home in O’Fallon, Ill.
