Casey, Earl

Earl Eugene Casey, 99, of Bloomsdale died Oct. 31, 2020, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Mr. Casey was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from September 1942 through December 1945 and was a life member of VFW Post 3777 in Crystal City. He was born March 27, 1921 in Ellington, the son of the late Emma (Massie) and George Washington Casey.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Regina (Ponzar) Casey; a son: George Casey; two stepsons: Don (Lynne) McCrary and Darryl (Trish) McCrary; three stepdaughters: Sherry (Pete) Johnson, Jill (Darrel) Ottomeyer and Tammy Davidson; six grandchildren: Travis, Roxanne, Chloe, Matthew, Nathen and Hailey; a great-grandson: Mason; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: Truman, Harry, Herman, Bernell and Pete Casey; and seven sisters: Clara Phelps, Elsie Hampton, Verna Carter, Nola Choate, Artie Kinder, Andella Chitwood and Minnie Casey.

Visitation is at 11 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Brother Bob Thebeau. Burial is in the Concord Cemetery in Bloomsdale. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
