Douglas William Dueing, 51, of Crystal City died March 31, 2021, in Crystal City. Mr. During worked as a chef for many years. He was a great friend to many and loved sports, especially watching the Blues and the Cardinals. He helped coach floor hockey, baseball, and softball for his children as they grew up. If a coach or a friend needed his help, he was there. Born Dec. 8, 1969, in St. Louis, he was the son of Missouri, son of LaVarne Evelyn (Zurheide) During of Fenton and the late William Fred Dueing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four children: Alexandra (John) Reed of Hillsboro, Nicole Dueing of Festus, Trevor Dueing of Barnhart and Gabrielle Dueing of Barnhart; a brother: Dennis (Julie) Dueing of Imperial; a granddaughter: Adalynn Reed of Hillsboro; a niece: Danielle Dueing of Imperial; a nephew: Drake Dueing of Imperial; an uncle: Warren Zurheide; a cousin: Chris Zurheide; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 5, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. Memorials may be made to St. Louis Youth Sports Outreach, 12 Glen Eagle Ct., Troy, 63379. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
