Douglas Lee Finley, 70, of Festus died March 16, 2020, at his home. Mr. Finley was retired from John Henry Foster after a 38-year career in sales. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a crew chief from 1968-1972 and attaining the rank of sergeant. He was a member of the Catholic faith and a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Born Nov. 15, 1949, in Oakland, Neb., he was the son of the late Ruth and Chester Finley.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Susan (Santen) Finley of Festus; three children: Christopher Finley of Navarre, Fla., Stephanie (Joseph) Shipley of Barnhart and Gary (Brandi) Finley of Festus; two siblings: Dennis Finley and Rich (Sheila) Finley; and nine grandchildren: Tanner Tidwell, Logan Shipley, Haylie Shipley, Gracie Shipley, Jack Finley, Landon Finley, Maddox Finley, Hannah Finley and Eva Finley.
He was preceded in death bythree siblings: Larry Finley, Tom Finley and Peggy McConnell; one grandchild: Gavin Finley; a sister-in-law: Wanda Finley; and his parents-in-law: Raymond and Genevieve Santen.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings, funeral services and burial in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks will be private. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
