Douglas L. “Doug” Rorer, 75, of Cadet died May 2, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Rorer was a self-employed truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Born June 24, 1940, in Marion, Ken., he was the son of the late Henry Leonard and Anna Ruth (Gilland) Rorer.
He is survived by his wife: Phyllis (Hall) Rorer of Cadet; five children: Dotty Rorer of De Soto, Patty (Keith) Driver of Marion Ken., Missy (Ken) Fowler of Princeton, Ky., Holly (Bobby) Turpin of Princeton, Ky., and Crystal (Larry) Baxley of Whitmere, S.C.; three step-children: Denise (Jack) Koester of Richwoods, Billie Sansoucie of Richwoods and Stephanie Lucas of Arnold; one son-in-law: Bo Pinson of Cadet; three siblings: Phyllis (Joe) Risner of Marion, Ky., Robert (Linda) Deboe of Marion, Ky., and Don (Dean) Deboe of Marion, Ky.; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Tammy Pinson; four siblings: Kenneth Deboe, John Ed Deboe, Phillip Rorer and Pauline Lee; and one great-grandson: Kane Lawless.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
