Doug D. Weems, 59, of Pevely died Jan. 6, 2020, at his home. Mr. Weems was a metal spinner for the former Soundolier Corp. in Festus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with the 82nd Airborne Division. Born June 27, 1960, in St. Louis, he was the son of Euell “Buster” Weems of Pevely and the late Nema “Jean” (Cassidy) Weems.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife: Melody (Parker) Weems; two sons: Shawn (Kim) McFarland of Troy, Ill., and Chad (Julie) McFarland of Festus; six grandchildren: Dylan, Danielle, Autumn, Cameron, Landon and Mabrey McFarland; and a great-granddaughter: Ava McFarland.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Brian Roberts. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
