Dorothy Mae (Coleman) Politte, 100, of Waukee, Iowa, formerly of Festus, died April 5, 2020, at the Village of Legacy Pointe in Waukee. Mrs. Politte was a member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee. She would light up a room with her vibrant personality, and cherished her family and friends. Born April 13, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Stella and Elory Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husband: Louis James Politte.
She is survived by a daughter: Sharon (Politte) Charleville of Herculaneum; two grandsons: Scott (Lisa) Politte of Waukee and John "Travis" (Dhaniela) Charleville of Webster Groves; a granddaughter: Sara (Christopher) Colantuono of Festus; a great-grandson: Anthony James Colantuono, and a daughter-in-law: Rosa Politte of Waukee.
She was preceded in death by two sons: James Donald Politte and Larry Gerard Politte; six brothers: Ralph Coleman, Foster Coleman, Wilford Coleman, Gene Coleman, Joseph Coleman and Ignatius Coleman; a sister: Eufala Coleman Horton; and a son-in-law: John R. Charleville.
A Memorial Mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
