Dora I. Harrington, 91, of Arnold died March 5, 2015, in Festus. Mrs. Harrington was a physical therapy aide. Born Feb. 24, 1924, in Cherokee County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Gilbert and Ula Mae (Reed) Dover. She was preceded in death by her husband: Edward J. Harrington.
She is survived by three sons: Wesley (Joyce) Ballard of Rockmart, Ga., Joseph (Susan) Ballard of Crystal City and Mike (Laurie) Harrington of Fenton; seven grandchildren: Johnny Ballard, Steve Ballard, Karin Ballard, Trinket (Bobby) Benz, Tracey Ballard, Meghan Harrington and Grace Harrington; seven great-grandchildren: Mitchell McKenzie, Brandon McKenzie, Josh Venz, Jake Venz, Julia Venz, Shae O’Brien and Terrie Friedmeyer; and three siblings: Bea Green of Morse Mill, Mae Bell “Bo” Ballard of Rockmart, Ga., and James (Nellie) Dover of Taylorsville, Ga.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Jody Ballard; a sister: Patricia Gentry; and a brother: Edward Dover.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 9, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Charles Ferrara. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
