Donald Lee Null, 84, of De Soto died July 22, 2022, at Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto. Mr. Null was retired from the Chrysler Corp. automobile assembly plant in Fenton. He served for 36 years with the De Soto Rural Fire Protection District, much of that time as chief. He was a member of Luckey Baptist Church in De Soto. Born Feb. 26, 1938, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Cecile (Davis) and Edward Ross Null.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years: Sandra A. (Cash) Null.
He is survived by two children: Terry Lynn (Sheri) Null of Alexandria, La., and Donna (Frank) Ruch of De Soto; two sisters: Doris Johnson of De Soto and Cheryl Morrison of Farmington; a brother: Norman Null of De Soto; five grandchildren: Dustin (Chelsea) Null, Jason (Keri) Null, Cory (Samantha) Null, Amber Ruch and Tyler (Jennifer) Ruch; nine great-grandchildren: Alexis, Mason, Skyleir, Lillian, Kaden, Tyler, Grayson, Gracelynn and Georgia; and a dear friend: John Patterson of De Soto.
He was preceded in death by a son: Paul Null; a sister: Carole (Ken) McManus; two brothers: Glynn (Doris) Null and Ronald Null; a brother-in-law: Harry Johnson; and a sister-in-law: Leola Null.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the funeral home, officiated by Paul Eye. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Luckey Baptist Church, 5252 Hwy. Y, in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
