Donald Lee “Don” Boatwright, 79, of Imperial died Oct. 16, 2014, in Imperial. Mr. Boatwright was a private airplane pilot, heavy equipment operator, master carpenter, fisherman, and was retired from Ace Hardware. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arnold. Born Dec. 9, 1934, in Mill Spring, he was the son of the late James J. and Dorothy D. (Hassell) Boatwright.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia L. Boatwright; a son: David (Sandy) Boatwright of Troy, Ill.; two daughters: Donna (Joseph) Castellano of Venice, Fla., and Toni (Jim) Janushanis of Barnhart; five grandchildren: Kailey Boatwright, Matt, Nick and Gene Janushanis and Jen (Tim) Mullin; and three great-grandchildren: Garrett, Carson and Paxton Mullin.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Roy Boatwright; and a sister: Lucille Yates.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the First Baptist Church, 2012 Missouri State Road, in Arnold, officiated by the Rev. Kenny Qualls. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice or the Focus on Missions Eyeglass Ministry, 4413 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold 63010. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
