Donald L. Marler, 86, Desloge
Donald L. Marler, 86, of Desloge died May 4, 2021, at his home. Mr. Marler was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Festus and the Boilmakers Union. He enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Mizzou basketball, gardening, going to church, and spending time with his family and friends and his pet, Princess. Born Nov. 21, 1934, in Desloge, he was the son of the late Austin and Pearl (LaChance) Marler. He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Freda L. (Ratty) Marler; two daughters: Pamela (Robert) Dallas and Marsha (Chris) Adams; five grandchildren: Chastity (David), Merissa (Tim), Chad (Tiara), Chris and Joshua; 11 great-grandchildren: Taylor (Alli), Tanner, Blaise, Cody (Savannah), Leo, Nautica, Jadyn (Whitney), Cadence, Nerik, Caselyn and James; and great-great-granddaughter: Harper.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today (May 7) at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home, 313 Benham St, in Bonne Terre and will resume at 10 a.m. until the funeral services at noon Saturday (May 8) at the funeral home chapel, officiated by Brother Pete Ruble. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Potosi. Attendees must wear face masks. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
