Dominic “Don” Schutte Jr., 90, of Hillsboro died March 2, 2017, at his home. Mr. Schutte was a retired machinist from McDonnell Douglas. He was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local 837 and Hillsboro United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Born Nov. 7, 1926, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Oleta Mary (Cissell) and Dominic Schutte Sr.

He is survived by his wife: Ellen Nora (McMullin) Schutte; five children: Larry W. (Karen) Schutte of St. Charles, Gary W. (Lou Anne) Schutte of De Soto, Donna M. (Mike) Mitchell of De Soto, Ronald E. (Sujata) Schutte of Imperial and Janet L. (Scott Dietrich) Wann of Imperial; two brothers: Herman J. “Dutch” (Rosemary) Koch and Charles (Dorothy) Koch, both of De Soto; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: Anthony “Bob” (Cleta) Schutte.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, March 6, at Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 4810 Hwy. B, officiated by the Rev. David Webster. Burial will be in Victoria Cemetery in Victoria. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, De Soto.
