Dolores A. Engel, 85, of Barnhart died Jan. 5, 2017, in Festus. Mrs. Engel was a homemaker. Born July 26, 1931, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Henry Luke and Alma Mary (Hartlieb) Dierkes.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Arthur A. Engel Jr.; a son: Steve Engel; two daughters: Terry (Glenn) Praechter and Penni (John) May of Barnhart; nine grandchildren: William H. Cook IV, Kevin (Felicia) M. Cook, Cory Prindiville, Jeffrey (Kara) P. Praechter, Kelly (Thomas) M. Boden, Danielle (Scott) Singleton, Ryan (Sarah) Boyer, Holly Boyer and Travis Praechter; five great-grandchildren: Jacob Boden, Ethan Boden, Tyler Singleton, Paityn Singleton and Barret Boyer; and a sister: Jeanette Lipina. She was preceded in death by a brother: Robert Dierkes.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 9, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, officiated by Father Nickolai. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
