Choate, Diana

Diana Elizabeth Choate, 78, of Pevely died Aug. 2, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Choate was a retired baker for Wonder Bread. She enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals’ baseball, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Born Jan. 7, 1944, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Jacqueline (Duncan) and Walter Yount.

She is survived by her husband: Howard B. Choate; three sons: Craig (Rio) Osborn of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Howard Ray (Amy) Choate of De Soto and Mark (Kathy) Choate of Festus; three daughters: Kim (Doug) Baird of New Port Richey, Fla., Rita (John) Childers of Festus and Carrie (Neil) Piatt of De Soto; two brothers: Frank (Debbie) Yount of St. Louis and Terry (Oleta) Yount of Fort Worth, Texas; five sisters: Phyllis (Monty) Turner of Fredericktown, Kathy Yount of Belleville, Ill., Pamela (George) Winkle of De Soto, Jackie (the late Michael) Linnertz of Florissant and Connie Yount of Florissant; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Walter Yount; and one grandson.

A funeral service was held Aug. 9 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
