Denis James “Bucky” Pouliezos, 93, of Ste. Genevieve died Dec. 26, 2019, at Ste. Genevieve County Hospital. Mr. Pouliezos retired as a sergeant first class from the U.S. Army, after serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of American Legion Post 0554 in Bloomsdale. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and socializing. Born May 4, 1926, in Festus, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen (Manley) Pouliezos. He was preceded in death by his wife: Geneva L. (Hinton) Pouliezos.
He is survived by a daughter: Georgia (Paul) McClanahan of Ste. Genevieve; three nieces: Janet Rebstock, Betty Welch and Ruth Ellis; and three nephews: John Pouliezos, Pat Pouliezos and Gary Ellis.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Edward and Louis Pouliezos; and a sister: Marie Combs.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
