Dell Rita Marion, 62, of Festus died Sept. 15, 2022, at her home. Ms. Marion was a former 911 dispatcher for Jefferson County and St. Louis City. She spent years caring for her mother until her death in 2014. She was quiet and liked simple things, and she valued love above material objects. Born March 17, 1960, in Portageville, she was the daughter of the late Mardie Mae (Manning) and Matt J. Marion.
She is survived by a son: Wesley Marion of Festus; seven siblings: Jewell Robertson of St. Louis, Colleen Anderson of Arnold, Matt W. Marion of Fenton, Lillian Carol Melton of Barnhart, Camille (Paul) Drennan of St. Louis, Sheila (James) Blum of Festus and Renee Elizabeth (Mark) Skalij of Biloxi, Miss.; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by three siblings: Vernon J., Richard and Ann Marie Marion; and three brothers-in-law: Carl Robertson, Jerry Anderson and Fred L. Melton
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a funeral service at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
