Deborah Catherine Cotham, 70, of De Soto died Aug. 16, 2021, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mrs. Cotham was a house parent in residential care at Comtrea and Pony Bird Home. She was a member of the Arnold Eagles and the Mississippi River Eagles in Crystal City. Born March 3, 1951, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Hummel and Hazel (Fishering) Sauer.
She is survived by a daughter: Tracy Rulo of Cadet; a son: Chris (Misty) Cotham of De Soto; a sister: Shirley James of Affton; a brother: Mark (Karen) Sauer of St. Louis; three grandchildren: Gibson Cotham, Marshall Cotham and Samantha Rulo; a special aunt: Marlene “Posy” (the late James) Reed; and numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a stepfather: Menzo Sauer; and a brother: Donald Hummel.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Mississippi River Eagles, 330 Bailey Road, in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes, Festus.
