David W. Couch, 61, of St. Louis died Aug. 20, 2015, at his home. Mr. Couch attended Cleveland High School in St. Louis, leaving at age 16 to pursue a degree in ‘street smarts.” He was an independent courier with Transtar Inc., which allowed him to pursue his passion for visiting convenience stores in the greater bi-state area to buy snacks, slushies and lottery tickets. He was born March 15, 1954, in St. Louis, the son of the late Floyd and Odell Couch.

He is survive by three children: Lisa (Michael) Goodwin of De Soto, David (Bethany) Couch of Pevely and Adam (Jen) Couch of Williston, N.D.; five grandchildren: Colton and Chance Goodwin of De Soto and Abby, Carter and Lainey Couch of Pevely; two sisters: Dianne James of St. Louis and Margie (Ronnie) Chiles of Washington County; two brothers: Jerry (Mary) Couch of St. Louis and Denny Couch of Washington County; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also is survived by a great group of friends – they know who they are – and his neighbor, caregiver and friend, Debbie Leahart of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his brother and best friend, Jack Couch; and his beloved “ball and chain,” his wife, Debbie Couch.

A celebration of life gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at Sylvan Springs Park in St. Louis County.
