Long, David

David Long, 44, of Campbell died July 14, 2021, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Long was a self-employed roofer and enjoyed playing pool and darts, swimming and spending time with his family. Born Sept. 10, 1976, in Kennett, he was the son of the late Danny Tripp and Donna Sue Long Dickens.

He is survived by his wife: Melanie Jackson; eight daughters: Brittany Ralph of Paragould, Ark., Hanna Long of Eufaula, Okla., D’Anne (Tristin) Sloan of Poplar Bluff, Dezi (Austin) Rogers of Dexter, Celeste Angelique of Oklahoma, Morgan Long of De Soto, Justine Long of De Soto and Josie Gibson of Piggott, Ark.; two sons: David Long Jr. of Eufaula, Okla., and Jacob Long of De Soto; eight grandchildren; four sisters: Amy (Richie) Higgins of Piggott, Brenda (Clinton) Akridge of Campbell, Dawn (Richard) Johnson of Pollard and Elaine (Tyler) Roberts of Kennett; three brothers: Daniel Long of Campbell, Scotty (Tina) Long of Hot Springs, Ark., and John Dickens of Campbell; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother: Chucky Dickens.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Campbell City Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
