David Eugene DeRousse, 73, of De Soto died Dec. 26, 2020, at his home. Mr. DeRousse was retired after a 30-plus-year career at the Chrysler plant in Wentzville. He was a proud member of UAW Local 2250 and of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of DeSoto. He enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing with his brother and grandsons, playing cards and telling jokes to his family and friends. He was born May 22, 1947, in St. Louis, the son of the late Martha (Walker) and Roscoe “Buck” Rogers. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Ellen (Pashia) DeRousse.

He is survived by two daughters: Lori Ann (Jerry) Payne of Festus and Lisa Ann DeRousse of De Soto; three sisters, Karol Dunnegan of Blackwell, Penny (Ken) Tyson of Belleville, Ill., and Pamela (Dick) Bradford of Palmer, Alaska; six grandchildren: Jerry Payne, Megan Payne, Cayden Payne, Karli Payne, Randel David Risenhoover and Jacob Earl Risenhoover; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother: Francis “Peege” DeRousse.

Visitation is at 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
