Daniel “Turk” Halbert, 64, of De Soto died at Washington County Memorial Hospital Dec. 13, 2019. Mr. Halbert was a die-hard fan of the Herculaneum Blackcat football program. He was a master at tinkering and his other hobbies included perfecting “dad jokes,” dancing to embarrass his kids and making people laugh. Born March 4, 1955, he was the son of the late Doris (Givens) and Patrick Halbert.
He is survived by his wife: Rhonda (Smallwood) Halbert; two children: Danielle Mertz and Jason (Esther) Halbert; three grandchildren: Blake, Xavier and Hunter; two sisters: Denise (Steve) Raggio and Diane (Pat) Halbert; a number of family pets and countless friends.
Mr. Halbert chose to be a tissue donor. Memorial visitation is at 5 p.m. and a memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
