Daniel Edward Chasteen, 89, of Barnhart died March 11, 2020. Mr. Chasteen was a mechanic and owner of numerous gas stations for over 30 years. He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, traveling and dancing. Born May 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Ella Chasteen (Strini) and James Chasteen.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years: Geraldine (Gerry) Chasteen.
He is survived by two sons: Danny and James Chasteen; a daughter: Linda Fehlker; six grandchildren: Gary, Steven and James Chasteen, Michele Wells, Lorri Martin and Hannah Maeser, seven great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Melanie and Shannon Chasteen, Ella and Victor Martin and Logan and Megan Wells.
He was preceded in death by a son: David Chasteen; a grandson: Mark Chasteen; a brother: Mitch Chasteen; and a sister: Ann Hughes.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, followed immediately by funeral services. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the Arnold Church of Christ food pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
