Dale E. Taylor, 81, of High Ridge died Dec. 12, 2018, at Woodland Manor in Arnold. Mr. Taylor, a member of the Catholic faith, was a 1955 graduate of CBC High School in St. Louis. He worked in direct mail advertising at DMCA for 42 years, and after retirement worked for seven years at Dierberg’s Market in Fenton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving six months on active duty and 10 years in the reserves. Born Dec. 3, 1937, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Mazanec) Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Mary (Candrl) Taylor of High Ridge; six children: Timothy (Lisa) of O’Fallon, Thomas (Amy) of Kansas City, Theodore (Lisa) of St. Louis, Anthony (Angela) of Atlanta, Ga., Joseph (Sheila) of Chicago, Ill., and Kenneth (Kim) of Springfield, Mo.; 21 grandchildren: Madison (Andrew) Fitzgerald, Mackenzie, Elliot, Stuart, Samuel, Jacob, Nicholas, Luke, Joseph, Lydia, Grant, Mary, Julia, Anthony, Avery, Lauren, Nicole, Aiden, Rory, Mara and Brenna; and one great-granddaughter: Eliza Marie Fitzgerald.
He was preceded in death by three siblings: Joan (Taylor) Fantini, Glenn Taylor and Gail (Taylor) Eberhardt.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral Mass is scheduled at noon Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 4614 Blue Springs Road, in Imperial. Burial is in the St. John’s Cemetery in High Ridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton.
