Corliss L. Stroup, 93, of De Soto died May 12, 2020, in De Soto. Mrs. Stroup was a homemaker. Born Oct. 11, 1926, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Perkins and Dorothy E. (Minor) Perkins Kauffman.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Bernard Valenti and James Stroup.
She is survived by four children: Josephine Dunn of De Soto, Charles “Angelo” Valenti of Pittsburgh, Pa.,
Anita (Michael Ortmann) Glad of Crestwood and Bernard “Geno” (Cheryl) Valenti II of Festus; two stepchildren: Lisa (Darrell) Orr of St. Louis and James C. (Lisa) Stroup of St. Charles; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Harry Grummell; a son-in-law: David Glad; and a sister: Bertha Barnes.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the funeral home, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
