Constance Lorraine Burkard, 91, of Festus died Nov. 2, 2017, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Ms. Burkard was a machine operator at Von Weise Gear Co. She enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, yard sales and being with her family. Born July 19, 1926, in Bloomdale, she was the daughter of the late Louis (Broch) and William Fischer.
She is survived by a son: William L. (Carol) Burkard of Festus; a daughter: Elizabeth L. Rendleman of Festus; a brother: Richard Fischer of Festus; a sister: Rosie Brischle of Decatur, Ill.; a sister-in-law: Peggy Fischer of St. Genevieve; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Tony Burkard; four brothers: William Fischer, Ralph Fischer, Fritz Fischer and Les Fischer; a sister: Juanita Saunders; and four sisters-in-law: Viola Fischer, Margaret Fischer, Bernita Fischer and Alfreda Fischer.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the funeral home. Burial is in the Danby Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
