Cleo M. Pigg, 95, of De Soto died May 27, 2022, at his home. Mr. Pigg was a glassworker with the PPG plant in Crystal City. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Born July 29, 1926, in Ware, he was the son of the late Preston and Susie (Layman) Pigg. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary “Fern” (McCurdy) Pigg.
He is survived by three children: Debbie (“Gene”) Allen of De Soto, Larry (the late Sandie) Pigg of Festus and Darren (Kimberly Kochavi) Pigg of De Soto; five grandchildren: Tammy (Brian) Sadler, Melinda (David) Draper, Susan (Brian) Pfeiffer, Christy (Jeremy) AuBuchon and Amanda (Ben) Waggamon; 12 great-grandchildren: Katelyn (Kevin) Smith, Cora (Andrew) Brain, Andrew Sadler, Ashley (Christian) Sidebottom, Joshua Draper, Brendan Pfeiffer, Kirstan Pfeiffer, Haley AuBuchon, Lyndsey AuBuchon, Jackson Waggamon, Erin Waggamon and Whitney Waggamon; and one great-great-grandchild: Kenna Turner.
He was preceded in death by 11 siblings: Bertha Brauch, Alice Goodwin, Grace McKeen and Ira, Claude, Floyd, Lloyd, Charles, Jesse, James and John Pigg.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 3, at Deitrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at the funeral home. Burial is in the Hillsboro City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
