Clarence R. Day Sr., 67, of Farmington died June 15, 2017, at his home. Mr. Day worked as a deputy with the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department for 23 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Born Aug. 5, 1949, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Clarence E. Day and Mary F. (Williams) Lubay.
He is survived by his wife: Audrey (Clover) Day of Farmington; seven daughters: Kathleen Miller of Farmington, Amber (Dustin) Peters of Park Hills, Shaw Day of Farmington, Shannon Day of Farmington, Samantha Day of Farmington, Christina Legrand of Illinois and Jennifer Crosby of Oregon; eight sons: Clarence (Heather) Day Jr. of Barnhart, Dan (Sheri) Day Sr. of De Soto, David Day of Ironton, Timothy (Lindsey) Day Sr. of Farmington, Alex (Paige) Day of Park Hills, Ronald (Nickie) Day of Fredericktown, Daniel Clover of Farmington and Andrew Clover of Farmington; a sister: Linda Day of Imperial; 30 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Elmer, Kenny, John and Bobby Day and Roy Lawson; four sisters: Ethel Jeffcott, June Day, Jane Barnett and Marie Francis; and two grandchildren: Rusty and Tray Day.
Funeral services were held June 19 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Derry Bowling. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
