Clarence J. Peters, 79, of De Soto died Jan. 25, 2019, at Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto. Mr. Peters was a retired chemical blender for Merial Ltd. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto and a fourth-degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1185. Born June 30, 1939, in Saline, he was the son of the late Charles and Agnes (Beel) Peters.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Patricia “Pat” (Cook) Peters of De Soto; three daughters: Angela (David) Masterson of Festus, Regina (John) Hasty of De Soto and Trisha (Paul) DeMarco of De Soto; three siblings: Shirley Thiele of Cape Girardeau, Herman (Cordelia) Peters of Cape Girardeau and Ralph (Betty) Peters of Marble Hill; two sisters-in-law: Marie Peters of O’Fallon and Kathleen Peters of Marble Hill; nine grandchildren: Joshua Hasty, Alicia Hasty, Cynthia (Danny) Bowers, Helen Stuthers, Emma DeMarco, Dominic DeMarco, Andrew DeMarco, Samantha Richardson and Zach DeMarco; and nine great-grandchildren: Alex, Pamela, Stacy, Nathan, Hunter, Buck, Carolina, Adalynn and Kace.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in Praise Temple Memorial Gardens in Fredericktown. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
