Clarence “Gene” Watson, 74, died Jan. 29, 2022. Mr. Watson served in the U.S. Army for six years and the National Guard for 14 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, deer hunting and fishing, and was known for his storytelling. He was very handy and enjoyed completing projects and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Gerry (Stover) Watson; three children: Terry (Gina) Watson, David (Linda) Watson and Jarod (Tiffany) Watson; a daughter-in-law: Alyssa (Neil Yochim) Watson; 11 grandchildren: Katie (Craig) Casey, Joseph Watson, Brandon (Katie) Watson, Desiree (Koleby) Pace, Jewelly Watson, Dakota Watson, Kenadee Watson, Brianna Watson, Logan Payne, Ellie Watson and Elijah Watson; six great-grandchildren; four siblings: Sharon (Pat) Thielemier, Barbara (Rudy) Zosso, Ricky (Darlene) Watson and Cheryl Watson; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a son: Lucas Watson.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, April 29, at New Hope Fellowship Church, 5919 Antire Road, in High Ridge. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton.
