Chief Master Sgt. Gerald B. “Jerry 509” Hansen, 86, of St. Louis died Jan. 27, 2018. Chief Master Sgt. Hansen was retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he was an electronics engineer who managed the construction of radar towers. After retirement, he operated Dave’s 509 Liquor in Festus for more than 35 years..
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Jean (Dyer) Hansen; three children: Cathy (Rob) Cerutti of Quincy, Ill., David (Rita) Hansen of Festus, Thomas (Alan Boyce) Hansen of St. Louis and Robert (Jennifer) Hansen of St. Louis; five grandchildren: Aaron, Matt, Robert, Amanda and Elizabeth; two great-grandchildren: Jonas and Mya; and many siblings, siblings-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
