Chester D. “Chet” Forshee, 71, of Dittmer died Jan. 20, 2022, in Dittmer. Mr. Forshee was a carpenter for the Jones Company, a loader for the Morgan and White Quarry and maintenance director for Jefferson Resort. Born June 21, 1950, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Pearl (Richardson) and Chester Forshee.

He is survived by three children: Travis Forshee of Dittmer, Ginger (Brad) Counts of Dittmer and Shannon (Jonathan) Fusaro of Bishop, Calif.; four sisters: Catherine (Ken) Pennock of De Soto, Judy (the late Allen) Sansoucie of Park Hills, Peggy (Rick) Fessler of Valles Mines and Myra Lawson of De Soto; six grandchildren: Colton Forshee, Allie Forshee, Chris (Tracie) Counts, Justin Counts, and Tyler (Kara) Counts and one granddaughter to be born; six great-grandchildren: Aiden, Grayson, Jason, Elinor, Emma and Nolan; and a special friend: Jeannie Ray.

He was preceded in death by three siblings: Everett (Betty) Forshee, Wanda (Gordon) Mallery and Gary Forshee.

Memorial gathering will be from 11 a.m. until services at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Celebration of life will be from 1:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. later that day at the De Soto Elks Lodge, 1520 Clarke St., in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
