Charles Patrick Sansoucie, 83, of Blackwell died Nov. 30, 2020, in Potosi. Mr. Sansoucie was retired. He was Catholic. Born Jan. 16, 1937, he was the son of the late Bridgett (Kerr) and Charles Francis Sansoucie. He also was preceded in death by his wife: Cecilia (Partney) Sansoucie.
He is survived by three daughters: Mary (Dale) McDonald of De Soto, Charlene (Ernie) Chitwood of Tamaroa, Ill., and Cathy (Dennis) Wofford of Imperial; seven grandchildren: Christal Davidson of De Soto, Cheryl Wagner of Hillsboro, Amanda Haun of Tamaroa, Ill., Pam Cullen of Barnhart, Amy Rhoades of Tamaroa, Ill., Sara Morgan of O’Fallon, Ill., and Roland Chitwood of Tamaroa, Ill.; 11 great-grandchildren: Brenden Davidson of Minneapolis, Minn., Kelsey Davidson of De Soto, Lauren Wagner of Imperial, Kyle Wagner of St. Louis, Owen Cullen of Barnhart, Brogan Cullen of Barnhart, Josie Cullen of Barnhart, Kaidon Cullen of Barnhart, Emily Haun of Tamaroa, Ill., Johnathan Haun of Tamaroa, Ill., and Liam Rhoades of Tamaroa, Ill.; three siblings: Calvin Sansoucie, Bernice Holstein and Martha Jane Saunder; and a son-in-law: Rick McDonald of Imperial.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Kay McDonald; nine siblings: Leo Sansoucie, Dorothy Micke, Virgil Sansoucie, Iona Boyer, Edna Brown, Grace Wilkinson, Earl Sansoucie, Maggie Wideman and Agnes Wagstaff.
Funeral services were held today (Dec. 3) at DeClue Family Chapel in Potosi, officiated by the Rev. Mark Wilkinson. Burial was in St. Stephens Cemetery in Richwoods. Arrangements were under the direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
