Carolyn Jean Sauer, 69, of De Soto, died June 11, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Sauer was the former administrator of Cedar Grove Nursing Home and the Colonial House. She was also a member of the De Soto Community Church of God. Born Dec. 8, 1947, in Quincy, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Wilma (Austin) and Herman S. Davis Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband: Gene Sauer.
She is survived by nine children: Stacy Dahle of De Soto, Michael Dahle of Clarksville, Tenn.; Samuel Dahle of Hannibal, Melody Speck of Oakville, Tammy Dennis of Robertsville, Gerald Sauer of Imperial, Greg Sauer of Festus, Trish Burkeen of De Soto and Traysa Sauer of De Soto; several grandchildren, including Jacob and Joshua Dahle of De Soto and Crystal, Colby and Kyle Dahle of Tennessee; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A celebration of life ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, June 16, at the De Soto Community Church of God, officiated by the Rev. Ron Kulp. Memorials may be made to the De Soto Community Church of God, 300 W. Mineral, De Soto, 63020; or the De Soto Food Pantry, P.O. Box 552, De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
