Carol A. Berry, 75, of De Soto died April 22, 2021, in De Soto. Mrs. Berry was a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles. She also had worked as a secretary for Valle Lake and worked for the Visiting Nurse Association. She was an avid reader and loved to do needlework, and she enjoyed cooking and watching home remodeling shows and especially “Swamp People” on TV. She was born March 15, 1946, in De Soto, the daughter of the late Charles and Alean (Pashia) Emily.
She is survived by her husband: Ray “David” Berry of De Soto; two children Sharon (Mark) Garofalo of De Soto and Phillip (Nicole) Berry of Hassmersheim, Germany; three grandchildren: Christopher Berry, Vanessa Berry and Alexis Govreau; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by nine siblings: Cecil “Buck” Emily, Goldie Morris, Geneva Bartinikas, Varena Wells, Herbert Emily, Harold Emily, Blanche Donahue, Charles Emily and Virginia Wideman.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, at the funeral home, officiated by Brother Bob Thebeau. Burial is in the Horine Cemetery in Richwoods. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
