Carles L. Rowden, 89, of De Soto died April 4, 2016, at Crystal Oaks Residential Care Center in Crysta lCity.
Mr. Rowden was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed camping, the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and spending time with his family. Born Sept. 26, 1926, in Freeburg, he was the son of the late MilfordI. and Nancy K. (Sloan) Rowden.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Anahlee M. (Brown) Rowden.
Survivors include three sons: Michael (Janet) Rowden of Hillsboro, Mitchell L. (Ruth) Rowden of Crystal City and Thomas L. (Tee Sonethongkham) Rowden of St. Louis; two daughters: Donna K. (Robert) Davis of Festus and Dorothy L. (John) Lenz of De Soto; nine grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three daughters: Beverly A. Rowden, Norma Lee Rowden and Doris A. Denbow; four brothers: Claude Rowden, Raymond Rowden, Earl Rowden and Ralph Rowden; five sisters: Lettie Mulenburg, Lennie Dake, Jessie Crum, Selma Hollis and Genevieve Crider; two granddaughters: Katie Eaton and Dana Lenz; and two grandsons: Philip “Chip” Rowden and Kevin Rowden.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Thursday (April 7) at Mahn De Soto Chapel, 900 North Main St., followed by a 2 p.m. service, officiated by Pastor Tami Wilson. Burial will be in PeacefulRidgeCemetery, Hwy. 110 North, De Soto.
