Carl Garofaro Sr., 72, of Dittmer died June 5, 2021, at his home. Mr. Garofaro worked at the Ford Motor Co. for more than 37 years. He received two Purple Hearts while serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW who enjoyed fishing and spending time in his barn. Born July 5, 1948, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Norma (Farace) and Joseph Garofaro.
He is survived by his wife: Charlotte (Gorsuch) Garofaro; three children: Dawn Talbert of Dittmer, Nicholas Garofaro of Dittmer and Jennifer (Steven) Porter of High Ridge; nine grandchildren: Kyle, Kurstin, Logan Thomas, Abbigayle, Dominic, Evan, Eli, Ethan and Jacob; three great-grandchildren: Kenzie, Kyndal and Kamden to be born; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Carl Garofaro Jr.; and a son-in-law: Larry Talbert.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
