Brennon Michael Picarella, 25, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Festus, died March 4, 2017, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Picarella had earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and economics and was a second-year law student at the University of Tennessee. He enjoyed soccer and was a member of the 2009 state champion soccer team at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tenn. He was an avid Tennessee sports fan, and he enjoyed going to St. Louis Cardinals baseball games, competing in marathons and triathlons, golfing, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and going on family vacations. Born March 25, 1991, in St. Louis, he was the son of Brenda (Noland) and Michael D. Picarella of Festus.
He is survived by his grandparents: Michael (the late Jeanne) Picarella and Harold (Sharlette) Noland Sr.; aunts and uncles: Gary (Judy) Picarella of Crystal City, David (Denise) Picarella of Crystal City, Don Picarella of Crystal City, Sandy (Dan) Henke of Festus, Cindy Picarella, Harold (Tonia) Noland Jr. of Dupo, Ill., Charles (Lina) Noland of St. Louis, James (Tamara) Noland of Imperial, Bea Noland of Norman, Okla., and Eva (Jesse) Kinder of De Soto.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to any cancer organization. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
