Brandon Kyle Yates, 26, of Festus died Jan. 3, 2016, in Festus. Mr. Yates liked basketball, music, NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon and spending time with friends. Born Oct. 8, 1989, in St. Louis, he was the son of Donna (Paul) Roper of Bonne Terre and the late Thomas Wayne (Cathy survives of Arnold) Yates.
He is survived by his girlfriend: Alex Rallo of Chesterfield; one grandmother: Vivien (Donald) Pope of Festus; one great-grandmother: Laura Pope of Festus; five sisters: Brittany (Dustin) Swan of Festus, Courtney (Daniel) Thayer of Festus, Amber Yates of Arnold, Cassie Parker and Krystal Killian; two step-siblings: Rosie Roper and Paul Roper Jr.; two special friends: Lilly Hopper and Josh Rutz; two uncles: Skip Pope and Jerry Riegling; two aunts: Diane Pope and Wanetta Riegling; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Christopher Yates.
A memorial gathering will be from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., Festus. Memorial services will follow at 4 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Jim Owens. Memorials may be made to Mahn Twin City Chapel for funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
