Bonnie Lee Gile, 78, of Festus died Dec. 26, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Gile was a cook for the Festus R-6 School District and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City. Born March 28, 1940, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Lilly Rose (Richardson) Baker and Albert Taylor Humphrey. She was preceded in death by her husband: Elvin “Dwain” Gile Sr.

She is survived by two sons: Elvin Dwain (Mary Kay) Gile Jr. of Bonne Terre and Jeffery William (Nena) Gile of Festus; four sisters: Betty (Bill) DeRousse of Festus, Gerry (Howard) Scott of Festus, Brenda (Robert) Darian of Festus and Linda Baker of Festus; a brother-in-law: Muriel Smith of Festus; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Faye Smith.

A memorial gathering is scheduled at 9 a.m. and a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Clark Maes. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
